Neil Gaiman supports UNHCR

08 12 2020

British writer and UNHCR ambassador Neil Gaiman has released a new crowdsourced animated version of his poem, What You Need To Be Warm, featuring artwork from his social media followers, raising funds for the charity's Winter Appeal, which provides vital support to Syrian refugees.

Gaiman's poem, written exclusively for UNHCR last year, 'reflects the journeys and challenges that refugees face, especially in the cold, winter months', and he said 'This year has been incredibly challenging and difficult for many people around the world. But this was an opportunity to come together to show kindness and creativity and to help thousands of vulnerable families... I was blown away by the response and quality of drawings submitted online. People really care and want to help and they still can by making a donation!'.
